Seniors over 60 years old registered in San Miguel de Abona for a minimum of three years can apply for the 2026 Social Tourism Program. The application period runs from November 7 to 26.
The initiative, organized by the City Council's Social Services Department and the Institute of Social and Sociosanitary Care (IASS) of the Tenerife Island Council, aims to offer new leisure and cultural experiences to the municipality's elderly population. This edition will allow 30 participants to enjoy a six-day trip to Granada, from March 13 to 18, 2027.
Thanks to joint funding from the City Council (33%) and the IASS (34%), the total cost of the trip is subsidized by 67%. Each participant will pay only 233.31 euros.
The City Council reaffirms its commitment to the well-being of seniors, facilitating opportunities to discover new places and expand their social connections.
Requirements to participate include being over 60 years old (or turning 60 in 2027), being registered in the municipality for at least three years, meeting income limits set by the Tenerife Island Council, and not having health issues that would prevent travel.
For more information and to submit applications, interested individuals can contact the Social Services Department or call 922 700 000, extension 1213.
