The General Directorate of Blood Donation and Hemotherapy of the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS) has deployed one of its mobile units to the Tenerife municipality of Santa Úrsula. The team will be operational this Monday, September 14, 2026, next to the City Hall, attending to donors and residents from 10:30 AM to 1:45 PM and from 4:00 PM to 8:45 PM.
The main objective of these drives is to raise public awareness about the vital importance of donating blood, recommending at least twice a year to maintain adequate levels of blood products in the community.
To be able to donate blood, it is necessary to meet some basic requirements: be between eighteen and 65 years old (up to sixty if it is your first donation), weigh more than fifty kilograms, be in good general health, and not be pregnant.
In addition to the mobile unit, there are fixed donation points in Tenerife. In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, on Méndez Núñez street, donations can be made from Monday to Friday between 9:15 AM and 8:15 PM. At the San Isidro Health Center, in Granadilla de Abona (Arguayoda street), the schedule is Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM and from 2:15 PM to 7:30 PM, with reserved parking for donors.
Hospitals also offer walk-in donation points: the University Hospital of the Canary Islands (Sunday to Friday and holidays from 8:30 AM to 9:30 PM, Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM and from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM) and the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de Candelaria (Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, except holidays). At Hospiten Bellevue (Puerto de la Cruz), an appointment is required (11:00 AM to 2:30 PM), and at San Juan de Dios Hospital (road to Santa Cruz La Laguna), donations are accepted Monday to Friday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, except holidays.
