The International Clownbaret Festival (FIC 2026) is celebrating a special milestone this year: twenty years dedicated to the history of clowning and circus in the Canary Islands. The lineup features renowned masters such as Compagnie de La Liberté, Peter Shub, Peter Ercolano, and Paul Morocco, alongside a showcase of artists in the Cabaret FIC XX years. Tickets are now available.
The festival kicks off on October 3rd at the Teatro Leal in La Laguna with the Cabaret FIC XX years at 8:30 PM. This all-ages event will bring together La Churry as the master of ceremonies, alongside Peter Shub, a leading figure in contemporary clowning; Peter Ercolano, an actor and stage creator specializing in clowning and physical comedy; Wilbur, a circus artist and former member of the Cirque du Soleil; and José Luis Redondo, known for his physical humor and improvisation.
On October 4th, Peter Shub will present his show Stand up and fall down at 7:00 PM at Espacio La Granja. This sixty-minute performance of exquisite absurdity and minimalist physical comedy, recognized with multiple awards, is characterized by its unique stage language. Shub will also perform on October 8th at 8:30 PM at the Teatro Cine Realejos.
On the same day, October 4th, at 6:00 PM, the Teatro El Sauzal will host Compagnie de la Liberté with their production aaAhh BIBI. Artist Julien Cottereau, through his character BIBI, will present a silent, imaginative, and delirious ballet, showcasing an idealistic and absurd circus with eccentric performers and untamable animals.
On October 6th, the Auditorio Guía de Isora will welcome Peter Ercolano at 7:00 PM with his show Vida de un payaso (Life of a Clown). The performance blends sketches, quirky characters, and constant audience interaction, exploring the contemporary clown not just as a traditional figure but as a 'warrior of good humor,' a conveyor of positivity, and a defender of everyday joy. Ercolano is an actor and stage creator specializing in clowning as a tool for human connection, play, and emotional transformation.
The theater performances will conclude on October 10th at 8:30 PM at the Auditorio Capitol in Tacoronte with the show Dúo Olé, presented by Paul Morocco. Morocco, trained as a street performer, developed his talent for improvisation and audience connection. The show, which premiered in 1990, has received awards and is recognized as an international cult classic.

Collaborating municipalities include Guía de Isora, El Sauzal, Icod de los Vinos, Santiago del Teide, Los Realejos, Tacoronte, Tegueste, and Agüimes.
