“"This action represents much more than the creation of a new park. We are transforming a space to put it at the service of the citizens, generating an accessible, sustainable environment designed for meeting, leisure, and family enjoyment. Furthermore, we are committed to recovering and highlighting our natural heritage through a project that will contribute to improving the quality of life in the municipality."

The Santa Úrsula City Council is advancing the creation of the future Thermophilic Park, a 446,000 euro project that will transform an urban space into a new green zone.
The municipality of Santa Úrsula is carrying out the works for the future Thermophilic Park, an initiative with an investment of 446,465.02 euros aimed at revitalizing an urban space and turning it into a new reference green area.
The project is being developed on the plot located between Sanguino and Los Laureles streets, adjacent to the Casa de la Juventud (Youth Center). The goal is to create a thermophilic forest park that connects both spaces through pedestrian routes, promoting their use as a point of coexistence and enjoyment for residents and visitors.
The plan includes the adaptation of accessible paths, garden areas with native species from the Canary Islands' thermophilic forest, a grandstand for the Casa de la Juventud's outdoor stage, new access points, retaining walls, and adapted pavements, all while respecting the original terrain configuration and enhancing its landscape value.
One of the key objectives is to bring the biodiversity of the thermophilic forest closer to the public through the planting of native species such as dragon trees and Canary Island palms. This initiative aims to contribute to the recovery of this type of vegetation, which has diminished due to urban development, and to optimize water consumption with species adapted to the local climate, reinforcing the project's sustainability.
Through this intervention, the City Council reinforces its strategy for improving public spaces, prioritizing infrastructure that expands green areas, promotes sustainability, and creates new places for coexistence for the residents of Santa Úrsula.
