José Juan Arencibia assumes the presidency of the Interinsular Football Federation of Las Palmas this Thursday for a new cycle extending to 2030, backed by his previous management and the arrival of the World Cup in Gran Canaria.

José Juan Arencibia will be sworn in this Thursday as president of the Interinsular Football Federation of Las Palmas (FIFLP), beginning a new term that will conclude in 2030. His re-election follows a first period marked by the entity's modernization and active participation in securing Gran Canaria as a venue for the Football World Cup.
Arencibia's management has been recognized for establishing an institutional headquarters in Triana, launching the Foundation, implementing the federated portal, a travel protocol for clubs, promoting women's football, increasing player registrations, offering free refereeing in lower categories, and maintaining a strong relationship with affiliated members. These achievements lay the groundwork for continued improvement in service to the federative family.
Thanks to his position within the RFEF board, a final of the Copa de la Reina was brought to Gran Canaria as part of the FIFLP's centenary celebrations.
On an individual level, Arencibia has received significant accolades, including the Roque Nublo Deportivo from the Cabildo de Gran Canaria in February 2025 and the Gold Medal for Sporting Merit awarded by the Government of the Canary Islands in April of this year.
