The initiative aims to create a reference point for the detection and development of sports talent. The center is designed to prepare surfers for national, European, and world competitions, including training for future Olympic Games participation.
The choice of the Bañaderos area is based on the natural conditions of the Arucas coastline. With a 2.5-kilometer stretch and over 15 breaks, the area offers significant technical variety for the sport, further supported by stable weather conditions throughout much of the year.
The project involves the adaptation of a building on the coast to house the facilities. The local government is currently seeking funding through collaboration with other public administrations to ensure the center's viability as a regional resource.
