Brutal beating of a young man in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: four attackers arrested

A group of ten people attacked a 25-year-old man on a public street, leaving him seriously injured.

A 25-year-old man was seriously injured after being brutally assaulted by a group of ten people early Sunday morning in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, near Santa Catalina Park.

The incident occurred around five in the morning, when a group of young people began repeatedly hitting the victim on the head. Local Police, alerted by witnesses, intervened in the Santa Catalina park area.
After being assessed and stabilized at the scene by emergency services, the young man was transported by a SUC medicalized ambulance to the Hospital Insular in the Gran Canaria capital. He was admitted with a severe traumatic brain injury due to the strong impacts received.
Thanks to descriptions provided by witnesses, Local Police were able to locate and arrest four of the alleged perpetrators. Two of those arrested are minors and were identified by the victim's partner, showing bruises and bloodstains on their clothing.
The investigation remains open to fully clarify what happened and to identify and locate the remaining individuals who allegedly participated in the assault.
