As of July 2026, 15,921 disability resolutions have been issued in the Canary Islands, representing 94% of the total issued in 2025 and indicating an upward trend in rights recognition. The total number of resolutions during the legislature exceeds 50,000, doubling the system's capacity.
Specifically, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria recorded 6,918 resolutions between January and July 2026, while Santa Cruz de Tenerife issued 9,003. Both figures maintain the highest resolution rate in the analyzed historical series.
The improvement shows sustained progress compared to previous years. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, resolutions have progressively increased from 3,696 in 2023 to 8,124 in 2025, already reaching 6,918 in the first seven months of 2026. Monthly comparisons show a 33.3% increase in July compared to the previous year.
The trend in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is even more pronounced. With 9,003 resolutions in seven months of 2026, the 8,821 registered throughout 2025 have already been surpassed. July 2026 saw 1,953 resolutions, an 83% increase from July 2025. May and June 2026 marked the highest monthly records in the historical series.
This continuous growth since 2023 confirms the effort to expedite case resolution and reduce response times, establishing 2026 as the year with the highest volume of disability resolutions to date.
