The anthem of the Canary Islands was heard with a new voice and a modified lyric during the institutional event for Canary Islands Day, held this Saturday at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The renowned singer Braulio was responsible for performing the piece, also receiving one of the Canary Islands Gold Medals.
The main novelty of this performance was the premiere of the revised version of the anthem, which now refers to "eight islets" instead of the traditional seven. This change reflects the official island status granted to La Graciosa.
“"The Canary Islands anthem featured the voice of singer Braulio, who received one of the Canary Islands Gold Medals."
The musical performance of the event also included the participation of other artists such as Carlos Sosa, Leonardo Segovia, Germán López, Pilar Bolaños, Alba Gil, Ana Falcón, Ana Gil, and Ayla Rodríguez. The artistic direction was led by Mario Vega.
