The Cabildo of Gran Canaria, along with the municipalities of Telde and Ingenio, has signed an agreement to unify and modernize the management of taxi services at Gran Canaria Airport.

The agreement aims for interoperability between existing digital platforms and real-time control of authorized vehicles operating at the arrivals terminal. This will be achieved by integrating the island platform Transfer, managed by the Cabildo, with the SG-Taxi system used by the municipalities of Telde and Ingenio.
Through automated license plate reading, the new system will enable more efficient control of authorized taxis in the passenger pick-up area. The Cabildo will allocate 60,000 euros for the development and implementation of this shared technology, which promises to enhance the organization and safety of the service.
The Minister of Sustainable Mobility of the Cabildo, Teodoro Sosa, highlighted the project's importance for institutional coordination in the island's public transport, stating that "having a shared and connected system will allow us to act with greater efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness to the mobility needs generated by a strategic infrastructure like the airport."

Martín stated that "the best way to move forward is through institutional collaboration and understanding," while Peña added that "by listening to the taxi sector, and working with the Cabildo, positive outcomes emerge, and this is one of them."
