The Fan Zone set up in Plaza de Santa Ana, in the heart of Vegueta, has been a central meeting point for fans, families, and visitors during the Copa de la Reina celebration in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This leisure and entertainment space offered an immersive experience with various sports and recreational activity zones for all audiences.
Activities commenced on Friday the 15th and continued on Saturday the 16th, fostering a festive atmosphere and strengthening the connection between sport and the city. The schedule included morning and afternoon sessions, establishing the area as a hub of celebration.
During the visit, the mayoress of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Carolina Darias, and the president of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales, highlighted the importance of the city hosting top-tier sporting events. They emphasized how the Copa de la Reina promotes the image of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Gran Canaria as destinations prepared to host major events.
The institutional collaboration between the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, and the Interinsular Football Federation of Las Palmas (FIFLP) was acknowledged. This coordination has enabled the development of an extensive program of parallel activities to bring the tournament closer to citizens and encourage participation from residents and visitors.
The Copa de la Reina Fan Zone follows in the footsteps of similar initiatives, such as the one organized for the 2025 Women's Euro final in Plaza del Pilar.
