A distress call at sea triggered an aerial rescue operation in the Archipelago. The vessel Star Hansa, sailing under a Norwegian flag, urgently requested the medical evacuation of one of its crew members when the ship was located 20 nautical miles east of Las Palmas.
Given the urgency of the situation on board, the Salvage Coordination Centre (CCS) of Las Palmas immediately dispatched the rescue helicopter Helimer 205.
The aerial crew quickly proceeded to the Norwegian vessel's position to carry out the evacuation of the affected crew member.
After successfully completing the maneuver at sea, the Maritime Rescue helicopter transported the patient directly to the facilities of the Hospital Universitario de Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín, where they have since received medical assistance.
