The incident occurred on the slope of the Barranco de Silva. The driver, aged 42, suffered severe multiple traumas upon rescue, while the seven-year-old girl sustained facial and head injuries.
Following a difficult rescue operation by firefighters to extract the occupants from the vehicle, both were transported to hospital facilities. The man was taken to the Insular University Hospital by a medicalized ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC).
The girl was transported by an advanced life support ambulance to the Materno Infantil Hospital.
Emergency services, including the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium, SUC, Civil Guard, and Civil Protection, were dispatched to the scene. The Civil Guard began their investigation after receiving a call from the 112 Emergency Coordination Center.
Firefighters had to perform extrication procedures to free the passengers from the car, who were trapped after the significant fall.
