The incident occurred on September 30, 2026, at 10:33 AM, when the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 112 received an alert about the accident. After classifying the call, various emergency services were activated.
The intervention involved the Beach Salvage Service, the Extinction and Salvage Service of La Oliva, Local Police, Civil Protection, the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), Primary Care, and the Civil Guard. Salvage personnel provided initial assistance, secured the area, and collaborated with the rest of the emergency device.
The 112 resource manager coordinated the operation, also activating a basic life support ambulance and the medical team from the Corralejo health center, in addition to the medicalized helicopter. Upon arrival, healthcare personnel assessed the affected individual, who presented with severe head and dorsal trauma.
Once stabilized, the man was transported by aircraft to the Gran Canaria Insular University Hospital. The Civil Guard and Local Police initiated the corresponding proceedings and collaborated in the emergency response.
