The Motiva project, established in 2009 in collaboration with the Biomedical and Health Research Institute (iUIBS) of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), has enabled residents and specialists to perfect their skills before applying them to real patients.
Currently, the hospital complex is equipped with five simulators covering various medical specialties, including Obstetrics and Gynecology, Urology, General Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Angiology and Vascular Surgery, Cardiology, Nephrology, Interventional Radiology, Pulmonology, Thoracic Surgery, Traumatology, Rehabilitation, Anesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics.
The integration of this laboratory has led to increased experience and proficiency for students, residents, and specialists, preparing them more effectively for real clinical cases.
Beyond training, the laboratory fosters technological innovation and research, exploring projects that integrate artificial intelligence to optimize the learning curve and the use of immersive virtual reality for educating on complex patient situations.
