Residents of El Salto del Negro, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, have expressed their growing concern over the presence of mud and dirt on the main access road to the neighborhood. This situation follows previous complaints about the proliferation of roosters, hens, and rats that had already been affecting the area for months.
The mud accumulation extends from the vicinity of the Mercadona in Hoya de la Plata to the ascent towards the landfill, generating "bad odors" in various parts of the neighborhood, according to residents. Through images and videos shared by residents, the condition of the road is evident, which one of them describes as "the entire ascent full of mud" and laments that "the neighborhood stinks all over."
This new complaint highlights the sense of neglect among residents, who criticize the lack of action from the authorities. Back in December, they had warned about the constant crowing of roosters and the presence of rodents, problems now exacerbated by the dirt on the streets. "We pay taxes and they have forgotten us," some residents comment, demanding improvements in the neighborhood's cleanliness and sanitation.
Adding to the list of issues is the state of some sidewalks, invaded by stones dislodged from the hillside, making pedestrian transit difficult. Residents point out that debris accumulates without being removed or the area being secured, perpetuating an image of neglect in the neighborhood.
