The construction project to enhance the flow and capacity of the GC-1 highway, between Potabilizadora and the Salinetas Interchange, continues to progress. The Ministry of Public Works, Housing, and Mobility has declared the "urgent occupation" of ten affected properties and rights in Telde, totaling approximately 7,639 square meters. Among these properties is a home whose owners have voiced their opposition to the compulsory expropriation.
The official summons for the preliminary occupation act will take place on June 23rd in the Plenary Hall of the Telde City Council. Interested parties may appear in person or through a representative, accompanied if they deem it appropriate by an expert and a notary, at their own expense. They must present their ID and documentation proving ownership of the affected properties. In case of force majeure, the act will be postponed to the first following business day.
This project includes the addition of a fourth lane in both directions to increase the road's structural capacity and improve connections with key access points such as La Mareta, La Estrella, La Pardilla, and Bocabarranco. Priority has been given to the execution of the southbound section and the accesses to La Pardilla, which were closed mid-last year.
The provisional award of the works was granted to the joint venture formed by Satocan, SA and Lopesan Asfaltos y Construcciones, SAU. This initiative aims to alleviate the significant traffic congestion currently experienced between La Estrella and Las Terrazas, due to the high average daily traffic intensity.
