The project aims to bring research and innovation into classrooms through practical experiences. Interested educational centers can register until November 3rd. The initiative invites students to investigate the origin of scientific discoveries and the process that led to their development, understanding how knowledge contributes to transforming society.
Participants will learn to search and verify information, connect concepts, work collaboratively, and communicate their findings. Special attention will be paid to the contributions of women scientists and local role models to foster a more inclusive vision of research and innovation.
Teachers will receive specific training, didactic materials, and support. The training, which will begin the week of November 9th, can be certified by the Canary Islands Government's Ministry of Education. Participants will have the opportunity to visit laboratories at the ULPGC and companies within the Science and Technology Park.
Students will present their developed projects to a specialized jury at a final event in the Paraninfo of the ULPGC. Thanks to the support of the DISA Foundation, three awards will be granted for classroom and laboratory materials.
The call is open to 26 educational centers from Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, and La Graciosa, offering Compulsory Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, or Basic Vocational Training. Applications must be submitted through the procedure enabled by the Government of the Canary Islands before November 3rd.
