Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, has clarified the statements made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, who had said that all those who entered Ceuta irregularly would be returned to Morocco. Marlaska explained that "more than 400 International Protection applications" are already being processed.
The minister added that those migrants who are entitled to asylum will receive it, while those who do not meet the requirements "will be expelled." Marlaska reiterated the order to return irregular migrants and emphasized that those involved in a crime will be "immediately expelled" after obtaining the necessary judicial authorization, following the procedures outlined in the Foreigners Law.
