For nine days, Aceró street and the parish of San Pío X will be the focal points of celebrations aimed at preserving the popular and neighborhood character, bringing together various generations around tradition and community.
This year's edition holds special significance as it marks the 20th anniversary of the Festival Commission, the entity that has led the organization of these events for two decades. District Councilor for Isleta-Puerto-Guanarteme, Héctor Alemán, praised the citizen involvement that keeps the celebration alive, assuring the district's support for festivities that strengthen neighborhood bonds.
The program kicks off on Friday, August 14th, with a mass at the parish at 7:00 PM, followed by a tribute to Miguel Betancor and Tina Febles. The evening continues on Aceró street with the opening speech by ‘Los Flechas Negras’ and a concert by Yaniley Cruz.
On Saturday, August 15th, Aceró street will host a charity market starting at 10:00 AM, a children's party with bouncy castles, and a parade with papagüevos. On Sunday the 16th, the parish will hold a mass at 10:00 AM.
The week continues with a theater night on Monday the 17th featuring the play La clínica estética, and a Canarian Night on Tuesday the 18th with folk groups. Wednesday the 19th will host the Night of Copla, and Thursday the 20th an artistic gala followed by a street party.
Friday, August 21st, the feast day of San Pío X, will include the creation of carpets and the traditional procession through the neighborhood streets after the 7:00 PM mass.
The festivities will conclude on Saturday, August 22nd, with a mass for the deceased parishioners, closing a program designed to promote coexistence and participation in La Isleta.
