According to the official statement released by the council, efforts are underway to resolve the incident as quickly as possible. The local administration has apologized for any inconvenience this situation may cause to beachgoers, requesting their understanding and patience.
Tufia beach, a semi-urban cove measuring 110 meters long and 20 meters wide, is a significant landmark on the island of Gran Canaria. Its uniqueness stems from its location on an ancient volcanic cone and its designation as a site of scientific interest in 1994.
This recognition is due to the preservation of fossil deposits of dune origin, the presence of endangered endemic plant species, and the existence of unique saline habitats on the island. Furthermore, its seabed is a major attraction for divers, and it hosts one of the island's most important archaeological sites, featuring remains of aboriginal stone-built dwellings and caves carved directly into the sea.
