The operation, planned by the Ciudad de Mar department, is being carried out by a team of vertical work technicians certified by the international association IRATA, from the company Macaronesia Rope Access. This is the second operation of its kind on the capital's coastline, following a similar one in October in the vicinity of Los Nidillos, on the Paseo al Confital.
The Councilor for Ciudad de Mar, Pedro Quevedo, highlighted the importance of these tasks, which are part of the improvements included in the new coastal cleaning service contract awarded to the UTE FCC – Equal. "We continue in another area of topographical complexity and environmental sensitivity," stated Quevedo, referring to the Costa Ayala area.
The operation will extend over the next few days in an area where a significant accumulation of various types of waste has been found, including the remains of informal housing on the slope. For the safe evacuation of the debris, a system of tensioned lines and hoisting has been installed, with the external aid of a crane to lift the loads in a controlled manner for subsequent classification and environmental management.
