Boxing activity in the Canary Islands continues with the 'New Talents' gala on June 6th at the Juan Beltrán Sierra pavilion in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, focused on promoting young prospects.

Organized by the Insular Federation of Gran Canaria, the event will feature a total of fourteen bouts in both male and female categories. The most anticipated duel will pit Kalem Formento, considered one of the island's most promising prospects, against Britain's Mason O'Brien, a two-time national champion in his country.
Formento, born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 2006, has demonstrated significant potential in his previous appearances, catching the attention of the Spanish national team. The young fighter aims to confirm his progression in this bout, which represents a significant test for his career.

"It motivates me a lot that they say I could be the future of boxing here. I take it as another reason to keep working every day. I prefer to take it step by step, covering all stages, but anyone likes to hear positive words like what's happening with me. I am very grateful to the fans because in previous galas I have felt a lot of affection from people."

The boxer expressed his gratitude for the support received and acknowledged the motivation he gains from being seen as a future boxing star, although he prefers to focus on daily work and progressing through training stages. Fans have shown him great affection in past events.
Another notable fight will be between Néstor Ventura and José Eluney, a bout with a rematch flavor following Ventura's previous victory.
The organization anticipates the presence of 'unexpected protagonists' among the summoned boxers, given the overall quality of the card. Tickets for the gala, which starts at 6:00 PM at the Juan Beltrán Sierra pavilion, are already available at Bushido Sport and participating gyms. A large public turnout is expected, given the growing popularity of boxing on the island thanks to formative work and a stable event calendar.
