UD Las Palmas faces Málaga CF in the promotion playoff semi-final. The tie-breaking rules in case of a draw, including extra time and final standings, are clarified.

UD Las Palmas and Málaga CF will face each other in the semi-final of the promotion playoff to the First Division. The first leg will be played on Sunday, June 7, at the Gran Canaria Stadium at 8:00 PM, and the return leg will take place at La Rosaleda on Wednesday the 10th at the same time.
The team that overcomes this tie will face the winner of the match between Almería and Castellón. In the event of a draw on aggregate after both matches, the regulations establish a clear procedure to determine who advances.
The semi-final pairings pit the second-placed team (Almería) against the sixth (Castellón), and the fourth (Málaga) against the fifth (UD Las Palmas). Teams with a better position in the regular league standings gain certain advantages.
The main advantage for the higher-ranked team is playing the second leg at home. Furthermore, in case of a draw in the aggregate score, they would only need to match the tie to advance.
If the tie persists after the 90 minutes of regulation time in both matches, extra time will be played. Should the draw remain after extra time, the team that finished in a better position in the overall league standings will secure passage to the next phase. A penalty shootout will not be used.
It is recalled that on a previous occasion, UD Las Palmas achieved promotion via the playoff by winning only one match. They drew in Valladolid (1-1) and at home (0-0) against Zaragoza, losing the first leg (3-1) and winning the second leg (2-0) with a goal from Chino Araujo.
