The Port Authority of Las Palmas held its last Board of Directors meeting of the summer, where substantial modifications for the strategic bunkering sector were approved. Five additional years were granted to Petrologis Canarias S.L., extending its concession until 2037, and 15 more years to Moeve Terminals Canarias, S.A.U. Both companies commit to investments exceeding one million euros.
Due to structural changes in the flour and animal feed market in the Canary Islands, a 31.5% reduction in the minimum traffic requirements for Silos Canarios, S.A. was approved, without a progressive increase commitment.
Furthermore, resolutions were approved to recover possession of mooring spots in the Small Vessels Dock of the Port of Las Palmas, occupied without a valid title. To date, the eviction of 38 vessels has been agreed upon.
The authorization for the use of a mooring spot in the Marina was denied to two vessels that had appealed the resolution of the Port Authority's director. Additionally, eviction was agreed upon for three other vessels that had filed a motion for reconsideration against a Board of Directors' resolution.
The Corporation of Pilots of the Port of La Luz and Las Palmas, S.C.P., was awarded the technical-maritime assistance for the maritime-port traffic control center in the Port of Las Palmas, Salinetas, and Arinaga, for five years and an amount of €685,051.52.
Regarding environmental practices, the agreement between the Port Authority of Las Palmas and Moeve Teminals Canarias S.A.U. to regulate access to activity fee discounts was extended for another year.
Finally, the president of the Board of Directors informed the members about the measures adopted for the Puerto de Las Palmas Foundation.
