The Santa Brígida Town Council has organized the II Book Fair, to be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Municipal Park, offering a comprehensive program of literary and family activities.

The town of Santa Brígida is preparing for a significant cultural event with its II Book Fair. The initiative, promoted by the Department of Culture, aims to establish the municipality as a benchmark in promoting reading and culture on the island.

"The fair brings together everything from children's and young adult literature to historical novels and fantasy, providing space for both established names and new voices. Our goal is for Santa Brígida to consolidate its position as a reference in cultural promotion and the encouragement of reading."

The Municipal Park of the Villa will be the setting for this literary day, taking place between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Attendees can enjoy author presentations, book signing sessions, and various activities designed for families.
Among the featured works to be presented are Claudia y el secreto del museo by Pablo Cedrés, a youth adventure set in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; Un libro es... by Emma Hernández and Domingo Quintana, which encourages children's reading; and La casa entre los pinos by Pepa Aurora, a renowned voice in Canarian children's literature. Topics such as child exile in Un puente infinito by Sandra Franco, and history in El piano del hotel Saturnia by Manuel García Morales and Historias de brujas 3 by Gustavo Trujillo, the latter focusing on Canarian oral tradition, will also be addressed.
In addition to the presentations, tables will be set up for book signings, where readers will have the opportunity to interact with authors. The children's program will include creative workshops by Mojo de Caña, such as personalized bookmark making and Pop Up technique workshops, as well as storytelling sessions for children aged 0 to 4. Painter Elena Déniz will also participate, creating a work in situ inspired by the event's atmosphere. The fair is supported by local bookstores such as Párrafo, Yaya, and Little Monkey, and publishers like Bilenio and Canarias eBook.
