This initiative, co-financed by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through FDCAN funds, focuses on the comprehensive renovation of electrical installations and the incorporation of LED technology with remote management systems. The main goal is to reduce energy consumption and optimize network maintenance in the municipality.
The works, which began on March 6 and are being carried out by the company Elecnor Servicios y Proyectos, cover six strategic control centers. These include the areas of La Angostura, Pino Santo Alto, Castaño Bajo, Cuevas del Guanche, Cruz del Paraíso, and Gran Parada.
“"This intervention is part of a municipal strategy to update basic infrastructures that had been pending renovation for years. The objective is to improve both the safety of the installations and the energy efficiency of the service."
In Castaño Bajo, the project includes the renovation of the electrical panel, new lines, and improvements in grounding, in addition to the installation of 26 LED luminaires and 67 decorative streetlights. Work will also be carried out on supports, conduits, and environmental conditioning.
Other benefited areas include La Angostura, with 41 LED light points; Pino Santo Alto, where the electrical network will be renewed and 92 luminaires with intelligent control systems will be installed; and Cuevas del Guanche, which will see its lighting panel reformed and its electrical network replaced with 51 new luminaires.
The action also extends to Cruz del Paraíso, where 50 LED luminaires will be installed, and to Gran Parada, which will feature a comprehensive renovation of the electrical system and 153 new light points, including road luminaires and ornamental streetlights. In addition to lighting improvements, the project includes pruning, clearing, and conditioning of the affected areas, aiming to offer a more reliable service adapted to the current needs of the municipality.
