The municipality of Telde will host an educational talk on transphobia in sports as part of the ‘Diversity in Play’ project. The event, scheduled for September 30th at the Jinámar Management Hall, is a collaboration between the Telde City Council and the Canary Islands Foundation of the Royal Interinsular Football Federation of Las Palmas.
This initiative, driven by the Canary Islands Foundation and supported by the Canary Islands Government's Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports, aims to provide tools to prevent discrimination and foster more inclusive and diversity-respecting sports environments. Telde marks the beginning of this training program, which will extend to other municipalities in the province of Las Palmas.
The session is primarily aimed at individuals involved in sports, including technicians, coaches, athletes, families, clubs, and sports federations, but will be open to anyone interested. The Telde City Council encourages citizens, especially those within the local sports community, to participate in this educational initiative to help create sports environments free from discrimination.
The activity is free of charge and requires prior registration through a form provided by the organization. The event in Telde kicks off a series of training sessions that the Canary Islands Foundation of the Royal Interinsular Football Federation of Las Palmas plans to conduct in other provincial municipalities.
