The municipality of Telde is joining the commemoration of World Alzheimer's Day, celebrated this Monday, September 21, 2026. As a gesture of support and companionship for individuals affected by this neurodegenerative disease and their families, the main building of the City Council, located in El Cubillo, will be illuminated in green.
This initiative, driven by the Department of Health, headed by Janoa Anceaume, aims to raise awareness about the reality of Alzheimer's, which impacts not only those who suffer from it but also their immediate circle, who face the daily challenges associated with the disease's progression.
Through this symbolic act, Telde seeks to convey a message of closeness and solidarity to all individuals living with Alzheimer's. It also joins the call to continue advancing research and knowledge of this pathology, which are fundamental to improving the quality of life for patients and their families.

The Head of Health, Janoa Anceaume, also emphasized the importance of maintaining commitment to research, stating: “We need to continue advancing in the knowledge of Alzheimer's and in the search for answers that can improve the lives of those living with this disease. Research is a hope for the present and, especially, for the future.”
The illumination of El Cubillo in green thus becomes a symbolic gesture through which the Telde City Council aims to contribute to raising awareness about Alzheimer's and express its support for affected individuals and their families on this day dedicated to disease awareness.
