The Telde City Council is preparing to give the green light for the rehabilitation of the deteriorated Narea sports courts, a long-awaited project by the local sports community.

The sports facilities at Narea, once a hub for several city clubs, have suffered prolonged neglect. The Telde council is now in the final stages of initiating the tender process for improvement works.
A significant challenge for the project's execution was the presence of an underground water tank. To overcome this obstacle, the council completed a crucial intervention in the municipal hydraulic network about eighteen months ago. This involved installing a diversion 'T' to ensure an alternative supply to the coast of Telde, an essential step before undertaking the court's rehabilitation.
The Local Government Board is expected to give its final approval to the tender file this coming Thursday. With this approval, the works can commence, and the space can be remodeled in the coming months, offering a renewed venue for sports practice.
Currently, the courts are in a deplorable state, and the city council has prioritized this rehabilitation as one of its most important actions.
