The city of Telde is preparing for a special musical evening with a performance by the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra (OFGC), presenting the show ‘Sounds of America’ next Friday, September 18th, at the José Vélez Auditorium.

This cultural event is part of the program organized by the Telde City Council to commemorate the 675th anniversary of the town's founding. The concert will allow attendees to enjoy a repertoire inspired by the diverse sounds of the American continent.
Under the baton of maestro Christian Vásquez, the OFGC will deliver a notable performance in an open-air setting, bringing a leading musical ensemble from the Canary Islands' scene to Telde.

"Celebrating such an important date for our city also means bringing culture and music closer to the citizens, and doing so with an ensemble like the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra."

Juan Antonio Peña · Mayor of Telde
Admission to the concert is free until full capacity is reached. Therefore, the council recommends arriving early to ensure access and facilitate proper event organization.
Mayor Juan Antonio Peña highlighted the significance of including cultural proposals of this magnitude in the anniversary celebrations. He invited residents and visitors to participate in this event, emphasizing the desire for the anniversary to be a shared celebration across various spaces in Telde.
This initiative is part of Telde's special agenda for its 675th anniversary, combining cultural, musical, and leisure activities to honor the city's history and project it into the future.
