Telde City Council will vote this Friday on the creation of the Miguel Jiménez Pérez Passage, a public space located next to the Juan Ramón Jiménez Municipal Theater in honor of the folk musician.

The proposal, promoted by the Department of Culture, seeks to recognize the artist's contribution to the dissemination of Canarian musical heritage and traditions. The administrative file, which has favorable reports from various municipal departments and the Official Chronicler of the City of Telde, concludes a process initiated in 2021 following various citizen requests.
The new passage is located in the rear and side area of the Juan Ramón Jiménez Municipal Theater, extending from the Daora fountain to Poeta Pablo Neruda Avenue, passing by the access to the Municipal Market.

"This recognition means settling a debt with a figure very dear to Telde and the world of Canarian folklore."
