In an official ceremony held at the San Pedro Mártir hermitage, in the San Juan neighborhood, the Telde City Council formalized this morning the definitive appointment of 32 Local Police officers as career civil servants. This appointment materializes the incorporation of these professionals into the municipal staff after completing all phases of the selection process, including their training at the Canarian Academy of Security and their practical training period.
The 32 officers thus conclude a process that began with the call for positions in late 2020. The procedure was reactivated in late 2023, after years of stagnation. Aspirants passed various selection tests, completed 1,200 hours of specific training, and undertook practical training in the municipality before achieving their definitive status.
The mayor of Telde, Juan Antonio Peña, congratulated the officers on their effort and highlighted the personal and professional journey of the promotion. The culmination of this process represents a reinforcement for the Telde Local Police, incorporating professionals familiar with the neighborhoods and citizen needs.
The council also acknowledged the work of the Qualifying Tribunal, municipal staff from Human Resources, Secretariat, Intervention, and the Local Police, as well as the Canarian Academy of Security in the various training phases.
