The Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council has initiated the tender process for the concession of the kiosk at Alameda de Colón, which will operate as a bar-cafeteria for five years.

The deadline for companies and individuals to submit their bids is next July 12, through the Public Sector Contracting Platform. This initiative, promoted by the Department of Finance, aims to revitalize a municipal facility located in a strategic point of the city.
The tender follows a visit to the municipal property by nearly twenty interested parties. The councilor for the area, Francisco Hernández Spínola, highlighted that the kiosk has been previously conditioned by the council to facilitate its launch.
The City Council has invested 42,771 euros in improving the kiosk, including roof waterproofing, door replacement, interior repairs, and basement staircase upgrades. The concession will be for an initial period of five years, extendable for another five.
The facility has a main area of 14.86 m², three basements (83.47 m²), adjacent bathrooms (16.90 m²), and an outdoor terrace area of approximately 81.75 m² with capacity for 12 tables. The minimum annual fee is set at 8,843.04 euros.
The tender documents include specific requirements for bidders and conditions for the exploitation assignment, removing the obligation for basement works, which will be evaluated as part of the exploitation project.
This action is part of the municipal strategy to reopen and enhance various kiosks and public spaces in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, joining others already in operation or awarded in parks such as La Mayordomía, Santa Catalina, Doramas, Mirador del Atlante, Castillo de La Luz, and Juan Alemán, as well as in squares like Pueblo and Hurtado Mendoza.
