The Las Palmas de Gran Canaria bid for European Capital of Culture 2031, known as LPGC’31, is touring the islands to integrate the regional cultural fabric into its proposal.

The project's technical team has recently visited Tenerife, following previous stops in Lanzarote and La Palma. These meetings aim to present the second Open Call, titled Rebelión de la Geografía, to incorporate new perspectives and agents into the final document to be submitted to the European jury.
The initiative aims for culture to act as a driver for social and territorial transformation. Through these sessions, sector professionals can discuss the candidacy's conceptual pillars and clarify how to participate in building an international-oriented program for the 2026-2031 period.
The tour will continue across the archipelago, with the next stop scheduled in La Gomera on July 14. The ultimate goal is to consolidate a candidacy that transcends municipal boundaries and reflects the plurality and diversity of cultural agents from all the islands.
