The project, coordinated by the Parks and Gardens department, uses over a thousand flower bouquets, salt, black volcanic gravel, and various sands to create a design featuring a globe and the message Yes to peace. Additionally, 475 square meters of natural grass were used to complete the artistic composition.
The color scheme, featuring black, white, green, and red, is intended to represent the flags of Palestine and the Sahrawi people. According to municipal sources, 60 workers are involved in the installation and maintenance of the carpet until the Corpus Christi procession takes place.
“"The streets must join the outcry demanding an end to violence and war."
This initiative aims to highlight the city's social commitment, using the Corpus Christi tradition to send a message of international solidarity and commemorate historical milestones such as the 50th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
