The Fiestas del Pino de Arinaga conclude their weekend with the National Folk Festival of Agüimes on Saturday and the family play ‘Mary Poppins’ on Sunday, both held in the Plaza de Arinaga.

The final weekend of the Fiestas del Pino de Arinaga features two main events: the National Folk Festival of Agüimes and the theatrical performance of ‘Mary Poppins’. Both activities will take place in the Plaza de Arinaga on September 5th and 6th, respectively.
The National Folk Festival of Agüimes will begin on Saturday at 8:30 PM. It will include four participating groups: A. F. Estampa Burgalesa (from Burgos), A. F. Pedro de Hautacuperche (from La Gomera), A. F. Chemida (from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), and A. F. Argones (from Agüimes). This gathering aims to promote Spanish folklore and foster interaction between diverse cultural groups.
In a welcoming gesture to the participating groups, the mayor of Agüimes, Óscar Hernández, received their representatives at the City Hall. Saturday's events will continue from 10:30 PM with a street party featuring performances by DJ Ulises Acosta and Aseres.
On Sunday, September 6th, at 7:00 PM, the Plaza de Arinaga will host the play ‘Mary Poppins’, a family-friendly production as part of the Summer Theater program.
The festival program will extend into the following days. On Monday, September 7th, the float ‘Molinillo de café’, designed by the Cultural Association José Suárez and Los Serenquenquenes, will participate in the Romería del Pino in Teror. On Tuesday the 8th, the Plaza de Arinaga will host the show ‘Bejeque en México’ with Mara Pérez at 9:00 PM. On Wednesday the 9th and Thursday the 10th, the ‘Virgen del Pino 2026’ Domino Tournament will continue with its qualifying rounds, semifinals, and final. Thursday will also feature a Noche de Pinchos (Tapas Night) on Avenida Polizón starting at 9:00 PM. The programming will conclude on Saturday, September 12th, with the final stage of the domino tournament.
