ARA Buenaga Fitness & Performance was born in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, with the aim of moving away from the traditional gym model and offering a more personal and supervised training experience. Its director, Alberto Buenaga, a graduate in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences and specialized in sports management and training, proposed from the outset a model in which each person could train according to their level, needs, and objectives.“We don't believe that everyone should train the same way. Training has to adapt to the person, their context, and what they need at all times,” explains Buenaga.
The center has developed its own methodology based on functional training and strength work, aimed at improving strength, endurance, and technique safely. ARA combines limited-capacity group sessions with personal training and specific programs, while its proposal is complemented by nutrition, recovery, and online training services. The objective is to offer comprehensive support for both health improvement and performance.
“For us, training well is not simply about exercising for an hour. It's about integrating training, nutrition, recovery, and habits so that the results are sustainable and have a real transfer to daily life.”

Since then, ARA has exceeded 6,000 training sessions and has built a community that currently numbers around 130 users. The growth of the center has been accompanied by new services and the expansion of the team, while maintaining closeness with those who train there as one of its main hallmarks. “Ultimately, the idea is very simple: that training is not something you have to do, but something you want to do; that when that time of day comes, you feel like coming,” explains Buenaga. "This philosophy is behind ARA's own motto, 'Where training becomes your favorite moment of the day', and seeks for physical improvements to be accompanied by adherence, enjoyment, and a sense of community."
ARA's main activity revolves around its functional training program in limited-capacity groups, complemented by more specific proposals such as preventive work sessions and classes focused on core and lower body. The offer is completed with personal training, nutritional advice, and online programs, which allows the service to be adapted to different needs and objectives. The center, located at Lomo La Plana street, 40, in Siete Palmas, has complete equipment that combines functional training material, free weights, and specific machinery, allowing work from strength and physical conditioning to areas such as prevention and performance.
