The Diginnova program has concluded its third edition at the University Foundation of Las Palmas, bringing together participants and companies to celebrate achievements in training and employment in the Canary Islands.
The event, titled «Sharing Diginnova Experiences», took place at the headquarters of the University Foundation of Las Palmas (FULP). It gathered around fifty people, including beneficiaries, collaborating companies, and institutional representatives, to reflect on the experiences and knowledge acquired through this initiative focused on innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation.
The welcome addresses were delivered by Javier Franco, director of the Canarian Agency for Research, Innovation and the Information Society (ACIISI), and Alberto Cabré, president of FULP.
“
"This program clearly demonstrates something: there is talent in the Canary Islands, and what we are doing is activating it. From the Government of the Canary Islands, through ACIISI, we are very clear: innovation is not just about technology, it's about people, and this program connects that, talent and business."
“
"Diginnova is an example of joint work between institutions to bring training closer to the real needs of the labor market, facilitating young talent to find professional opportunities in strategic sectors for the Canary Islands."
A dialogue moderated by Eduardo Manrique de Lara, managing director of FULP, allowed beneficiaries and company representatives to share their perspectives on the program's impact on their professional and organizational development. Participants in the discussion included Iván Ojeda Andrés from Cúrcuma Digital, Daniel Pérez Marcos from the Canarian Institute of Neurological Sciences Foundation, and Maica Amador from Sparkling Tech Solutions.
Beneficiaries Joan Hernández Padrón (Cúrcuma Digital), Azahara Desiree Monagas González (Abogada Mercantil), and Nauzet Juan Castellano Almeida (IU-ECOAQUA (ULPGC)) highlighted the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real work environments and acquire new skills. The event also featured a live broadcast of the «Herrera en COPE Gran Canaria» program, with the participation of Javier Benítez, Javier Franco, Alberto Cabré, and Eduardo Manrique de Lara.
The Diginnova program, promoted by ACIISI and managed by FULP in collaboration with the General Foundation of the University of La Laguna (FGULL), aims to improve the employability of graduates and facilitate the integration of specialized professional profiles into companies and research centers across the archipelago. This third edition saw high participation, with over 470 registrations in the province of Las Palmas, 310 admitted individuals, and nearly 200 completing the training process. A total of 129 participants undertook practical placements in 97 companies out of 154 registered, solidifying the dual training model certified by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
