The Atlantic Center of Modern Art (CAAM) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria inaugurates this Friday, October 30th, the exhibitions of the two selected projects from the 'Artists in Residence' program 2026, which explore installation and conceptual art.

The exhibitions by the Canarian visual artist Maï Diallo and the Aragonese creator Alberto Gil Cásedas can be visited at the CAAM's main headquarters from this Friday until January 31st, 2027. Both proposals, selected through a public call, focus on installation and conceptual art using disciplines such as drawing, sculpture, or site-specific creation.
Maï Diallo's project ‘Memoria Corporal’ delves into the echoes of certain violences on the female body across several generations. The work is a sculptural video installation that highlights the relationship between medical knowledge, racism, colonialism, and reproductive control.
For his part, Alberto Gil Cásedas's project, titled ‘3.682,14 m²: Derivas y reconstrucción de un espacio’, takes the CAAM's main building as its protagonist. The creator investigates the relationship between journey, repetition, architecture, and memory in an installation composed of drawings, interventions on paper, and museum signage elements.
In its eighth edition, the CAAM's 'Artists in Residence' program received 63 proposals. The initiative, established in 2017, aims to foster artistic creation, research activity, and coexistence among professionals from different backgrounds, as well as to give visibility to the work of creators from the archipelago and the rest of Spain.
