The call for applications, which opened for the occupation and operation of these premises, has its deadline next Monday at 10:59 PM, Canarian time. The process began after the publication of the regulations in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas.
This initiative, promoted by the Markets Department, aims to revitalize the historic commercial venue. The idea is to merge its traditional supply function with innovative gastronomic proposals to energize the space, attract visitors, and offer opportunities to sector entrepreneurs.
Four premises, identified as G1, G2, G3, and G4, are offered, located on the upper floor of the market, on Calle Poeta Pablo Neruda. Each space has an approximate area of 33.78 square meters. Permitted activities include cafes, pastry shops, bakeries, tasting areas, cold tapas, gourmet products, local and zero-kilometer products, and ready-to-eat meals that do not require smoke extraction systems.
The minimum monthly fee is set at 180.30 euros per space. Initial authorizations will be for two years, with the possibility of extension up to a maximum of four years.
The procedure is conducted under public competition, with evaluation criteria detailed in the regulations. Proposals can earn up to 100 points: 70 for the economic offer, 20 for commitment to market revitalization, and 10 for residency or residential ties to Telde.
The score will determine the order of space selection. In case of a tie, a public draw will be held. The City Council thus seeks to ensure publicity, transparency, and equal opportunities.
