Jorge Luis López, representing the Canary Islands Olympic Shooting Federation, achieved the Spanish runner-up title in the senior category. He scored a total of 561 points, finishing just seven points behind the champion, Francisco José García Rico from Valencia.
The Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports of the Telde City Council, Cristhian Santana Caballero, congratulated the athlete on his achievement. Santana emphasized that this national runner-up position is a recognition of López's hard work and a source of pride for the municipality, highlighting the talent of local athletes.
The competition, organized by the Royal Spanish Olympic Shooting Federation, took place at the Specialized High-Performance Center for Olympic Shooting (CEAR) in Las Gabias, Granada. It spanned four days and included the 9mm, Center Fire, and Standard disciplines, with participation across senior, women's, and junior categories.
This event solidifies its position as one of the most significant national shooting calendar competitions, attracting specialists from across the country.
