The Telde City Council, through the Department of Citizen Participation, has issued a call to residents of Ojos de Garza and the Centro District to submit their proposals and revitalize the neighborhood's community center.

The objective is to transform this space into an open, dynamic, and diverse meeting point, capable of responding to citizens' concerns and fostering new forms of participation, coexistence, and neighborhood collaboration. The municipal department encourages the public to submit their ideas, suggestions, and projects via email to info@telde.es.
The community center, which had been closed and recently underwent improvement and refurbishment works, is entering its final phase. With this new stage, the City Council aims to move beyond the physical restoration of the building and promote its effective use as a shared space, connected to the needs and aspirations of those living in Ojos de Garza and other neighborhoods in the Centro District.
The municipal proposal seeks for the center to be more than just a public facility. The intention is to foster a vibrant space where new associative initiatives, cultural activities, workshops, intergenerational meetings, and healthy leisure proposals can emerge, alongside actions to combat unwanted loneliness, especially among the elderly, and generate participation alternatives for youth.
The Department champions a model of citizen participation based on listening to the population, identifying their concerns, and facilitating residents themselves to define the space's uses and activities. Collaboration with groups and individuals with ideas and initiative, from Ojos de Garza and the rest of the Centro District, will be crucial for building a diverse program adapted to different ages and interests.
In this regard, the department led by Janoa Anceaume invites citizens to get involved from the outset, contributing proposals that will leverage the center's potential and strengthen community ties. The aim is for the space to become a reference point for acquiring knowledge, developing hobbies, driving collective projects, and reinforcing the sense of belonging to the neighborhood.
