The Telde City Council, through the Department of Physical Activity and Sports, begins the nineteenth edition of the Traditional Canarian Games in the Classroom program, which will reach 21 educational centers in the municipality.

This initiative aims to introduce students aged 6 to 16 to the cultural and sporting heritage of the Canary Islands through practical activities. It seeks to foster knowledge, conservation, and intergenerational transmission of traditional games and sports.
The program, coordinated by the Department of Traditional Games and Sports of the Telde City Council, will allow students to become familiar with traditional toys, pelotamano, bola canaria, and ficha games. Educational centers for early childhood, primary, and secondary education in Telde will participate.
The educational proposal connects physical activity with knowledge of Canarian traditions, enabling children and young people to discover, practice, and value games that are part of the islands' cultural identity. Collaboration will continue with centers offering Baccalaureate and the optional subject of Traditional Canarian Games and Sports, adapting workshops and practical sessions.
