The Telde City Council began asphalt paving works in Las Huesas on Tuesday, October 27, renewing the pavement on 27 streets in the neighborhood as part of the Municipal Paving Plan.

The intervention, part of the Municipal Paving Plan, is scheduled to conclude during the week of November 18. These works allow for the resumption of the lot awarded to the company Hermanos García Álamo, following an extension of the execution deadline due to justified technical difficulties by the contractor.
The works will commence with the access to Lomo Los Frailes and continue around the football field and along streets such as Jorge Luis Borges, Mario Vargas Llosa, and Juan Rulfo. Subsequently, teams will progress southwards in the neighborhood, reaching Europa, Asia, and Velázquez streets, concluding at the access from the GC-1.
A total area of 44,388.70 square meters will be renewed, adding to previous interventions on roads like Velázquez, África, Antártida, and the Jerez-Las Huesas road. The aim is to complete the improvement of the main streets in one of Telde's most populated neighborhoods and address residents' concerns about pavement conditions.
The resumption of the Paving Plan will also allow for interventions in pending areas in Marpequeña (four streets), El Calero (two streets), and La Herradura (two streets). With this phase, the municipal program will have paved approximately 270 streets with an accumulated investment exceeding six million euros.
The Councilor for Roads and Works, Iván Sánchez, explained that the planning aims to progressively complete the pavement renewal in neighborhoods, prioritizing streets with the greatest maintenance needs. "Now, with this second phase, we are going to complete the main streets of Las Huesas and include a parking area, addressing a demand that residents have been raising for years," he stated.
Sánchez announced that this same planning will be applied in upcoming actions in neighborhoods such as La Herradura, Jinámar, and Marpequeña, in addition to El Calero and La Garita. "Our way of working requires medium and long-term planning, with continuous monitoring of street conditions and a vision of the needs of the entire municipality," he added.
