The municipality of Telde is joining the commemoration of World Cerebral Palsy Day, celebrated this Tuesday, October 6th. The initiative, promoted by the Department of Health, aims to raise visibility for this condition and raise public awareness.
The main objective of this day is to bring the reality of people with cerebral palsy closer to society, emphasizing the importance of moving towards a more inclusive, accessible, and committed environment for equal opportunities. Furthermore, it seeks to foster knowledge about cerebral palsy, focusing on the needs, rights, and capabilities of those affected, as well as the crucial support for their families.
The Councilor for Health, Janoa Anceaume, highlighted the institutional responsibility to make social realities visible and promote respect and inclusion. "With this action, we want to join World Cerebral Palsy Day and help make its reality better known to all citizens," she stated.
Anceaume emphasized that awareness is key to building a society where all individuals can pursue their life projects under equal conditions. "From the Department of Health, we will continue promoting actions that contribute to building a more inclusive, accessible, and committed Telde," she added.
The Telde City Council thus reaffirms its commitment to health promotion, citizen awareness, and inclusion, participating in international days that allow focus on various realities and help give visibility to the people and families living with them.
