The Telde City Council and the Veterans of the Unión Deportiva Jinámar Pepe Vega Sociocultural and Sports Association have initiated discussions to develop initiatives that will commemorate the football club's trajectory and pay tribute to Pepe Vega.

The mayor of Telde, Juan Antonio Peña; the Councilor for Culture, Juan Martel; and the manager of Gestel, Jesús Suárez, met this Tuesday with representatives of the association, chaired by Ángel Jiménez, to learn about their collaboration proposals.
The association aims to recover and disseminate the history of UD Jinámar, remember its members, and especially recognize the figure of Pepe Vega, through sociocultural and sports projects aimed at residents and new generations.
Mayor Juan Antonio Peña highlighted the importance of supporting groups that preserve the memory of neighborhoods, stating that UD Jinámar is part of the municipality's sporting history and many families' memories.
Councilor for Culture, Juan Martel, valued the association's creation for uniting sports and local history, and expressed his willingness to study, together with Gestel, the possibilities for collaboration on proposed projects.
Ángel Jiménez, president of the association, explained that the collective seeks to keep the history of the club and the name of Pepe Vega alive, relying on institutional collaboration for their proposals.
The meeting served to establish initial contact and evaluate future activities dedicated to the sporting memory of Jinámar, with special attention to Pepe Vega and the trajectory of the Unión Deportiva Jinámar.
