Last Sunday, September 6th, the closing ceremony and awards presentation for the VIII Spanish Outdoor Apnea Championship took place at the Radazul Maritime Club. This national competition gathered apnea specialists in the waters of El Rosario, testing their preparation and endurance.
In the constant weight with fins (CWT) category, José Luis Fariñas claimed the men's title with an 83-meter dive. Fariñas also led the constant weight with bifins (CWT-BF) category, reaching 75 meters.
Linda Paganelli, a resident of El Rosario, dominated the women's category in both disciplines. She achieved 84 meters in CWT and 80 meters in CWT-BF, making her performance a highlight for the municipality.
In the free immersion (FIM) discipline, Alfredo Miguel Roén topped the men's standings with 70 meters, while Isabel Sánchez won the women's category, reaching 74 meters.
The El Rosario City Council, represented by the Councilor for Sports, Juan Jesús del Rosario, emphasized the significance of hosting such a major event, which showcases the municipality's natural conditions for marine sports.
The competition was organized by FEDECAS, with support from FEDAS, the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo of Tenerife, and the El Rosario City Council.
