The 18th edition of the Keroxen festival will take place between September and November, featuring over 30 acts from 15 countries. The program, which combines experimental music, electronic music, contemporary creation, and visual arts, will kick off on September 10 at the Espacio Cultural el Tanque in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
As a main novelty, Keroxen is expanding its presence in the Canary Islands with a specific program in Lanzarote, and strengthening its international collaboration with Café OTO (London) and the label Discrepant, which will feature 12 concerts in late October. Festival director Néstor Torrens highlighted the importance of generating encounters and connecting the local scene with international ones.
The festival will feature artists such as Xiu Xiu, Seefeel, Hatis Noit, and Gnod in its initial days in Tenerife. The program for September 10 will include Xiu Xiu with a show inspired by the film Eraserhead, as well as Waq Waq Kingdom + Kalma. On September 11, Hatis Noit + Desilence, Dancelwerk, Seefeel, and Rakta will perform. September 12 will feature Ecos, Usted y Oliver Behrmann, Gnod, and Takkak Takkak.
Keroxen will also move beyond the Espacio Cultural El Tanque to host an event in Bajamar on October 3, with performances by Las Arañas del Neptuno, Javier Goldin, and Severine Beata, linking the artistic program with the environment and landscape care.
The extension in Lanzarote, named KRXN LZT, will take place between October and November with four days. It will begin on October 22 with Los Sara Fontán, followed on October 23 by Waq Waq Kingdom + Kalma. On November 6, Rob Mazurek will perform, and on November 7, it will conclude with Lagoss + Simone Marin.
The international extension in London, in collaboration with Café OTO and the label Discrepant, will present a selection of festival-linked acts at one of Europe's leading venues for experimental music.
The festival, founded in 2009, focuses on experimental music and contemporary creation, hosting artists from various continents and generating projects that combine music, visual arts, and performance. Artistic residencies, such as those by Waq Waq Kingdom and Kalma and Muqata’a and Fairouz Hasan, are a fundamental element of its programming.
