Blood donation drive in La Laguna with mobile units

The General Directorate of Blood Donation and Hemotherapy of the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS) has set up mobile blood donation units in San Cristóbal de La Laguna this week, located at Avenida El Paso and Plaza de la Catedral to encourage citizen participation.

The mobile unit will be available today, Thursday, at Avenida El Paso, number 24, from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:45 to 20:45. On Friday and Saturday, it will move to the Plaza de la Catedral, where citizens can donate from 10:00 to 13:45 and from 17:00 to 20:15.
The General Directorate of Blood Donation and Hemotherapy emphasizes the importance of blood donations for maintaining the necessary reserves to assist patients undergoing surgical procedures, accidents, oncological treatments, and various illnesses. Residents of San Cristóbal de La Laguna and nearby municipalities are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to healthcare in Canary Islands hospitals.
Additionally, fixed donation points in Tenerife are highlighted. In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the fixed point at Méndez Núñez operates Monday to Friday from 9:15 to 20:15. At the San Isidro Health Center in Granadilla de Abona, hours are Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:30 and 14:15 to 19:30, with telephone assistance at 677980518.
Hospitals also offer walk-in donation points. The University Hospital of the Canary Islands is open Sunday to Friday and on holidays from 8:30 to 21:30, and Saturdays from 8:30 to 14:30 and 15:30 to 20:00 (contact: 922678670). The University Hospital Nuestra Señora de Candelaria accepts donations Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 20:00 and Saturdays from 9:00 to 13:00, excluding holidays (contact: 922602060).
Other locations include Hospiten Bellevue in Puerto de la Cruz (appointment required at 922385235, option 1, Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 14:30) and the San Juan de Dios Hospital on the road to Santa Cruz La Laguna (Monday to Friday from 10:30 to 12:30).
